There is a distinct difference between acceleration sensor and gyro sensor. To speak briefly, acceleration sensor represents the acceleration of X, Y and Z axis respectively and the slopingness to each direction; whereas gyro sensor represents that how many degrees the sensor turns. In case of acceleration sensor, we can represents by formula just as acceleration=static acceleration + dynamic acceleration.
Here, static acceleration is often represented as acceleration of gravity to slopingness of each axis.
Gyro sensor can find out the current direction though how many degrees were turning from the direction if setting the direction of 0 degree. You just have to decide where the direction of 0 degree in the map is. That is to say, you can use gyro sensor where the north is in order to use it in the map. Also in order to know this process, you have to find out the said process using terrestrial magnetism sensor or you have to use this gyro sensor setting the direction to 0 degree after matching which direction the north is more than once using GPS. Gyro sensor is likely to lose Zero, especially if gyro sensor continues to turn and thus error occurs a lot. Accordingly you had better correct this error of direction using terrestrial magnetism sensor.
In other words, in order to indicate the movement route of object, first mark the location of starting point, secondly seek the value of acceleration with acceleration sensor setting the direction using gyro sensor and make integral twice to find out the distance and consequently you may indicate the current position.
We sell three-axis acceleration sensor module. We recommend you to use this acceleration sensor for detection of free-fall of hard disk or laptop PC, cellular phone motion dialing, motion sensing, text scroll of PDA, tilt compensation of G sensor in navigation, sensing of tilt and motion in game console and motion sensing of robot.
